Welcome to 'von der
Krebener Jagd' Deutsch Drahthaars. We are located in Olanta, South Carolina,
just south of Florence.
Our purpose is simple,
to produce versatile hunting dogs with great natural abilities. Before you consider a
Deutsch Drahthaar as your hunting and family companion we strongly encourage
you to visit the breed's website at
http://www.vdd-gna.org
and learn about this breed.
Currently we own one
female DD, her name is Betsy vom Birkenhain. We acquired Betsy in 2005 from
Andrei Nicolau and
we are very pleased with her abilities. Betsy has passed the VJP, HZP
and VGP (natural ability and utility tests). She also completed the Vbr
(hare track and retrieving test) in Germany in 2006.
I, Ana, have handled
and worked with Betsy since I first picked her up at the airport in
Columbia, SC, when she was just a few weeks old. Betsy does wonderful
bird work; she has participated in quail, pheasant, dove and duck hunts. She
has taken part in hare hunts and I also put in practice her blood
tracking abilities in every opportunity we have. Betsy is very passionate about her work and is
also very friendly with people. She has a great personality and gets
along with everyone.
I am a member of the
VDD-GNA and Betsy and I are regular participants of our chapter activities.
We have also been very fortunate to work in Germany with our good friends Frank and Steffi Wagner (whom we met through Forrest Moore of the South
East Hunter Chapter). Frank has many years of experience with the
breed and is a valuable resource to our chapter.
Feel
free to contact me should you have any questions about Betsy or the breed in
general.
Sincerely,
Ana
